About PlanKit

Small, free planning tools that give you something useful to keep: a page to print, a PDF or a file for your phone calendar.

What PlanKit is

PlanKit is part of the Numbers Plainly family of free tools. It covers the planning jobs people usually do by hand in a spreadsheet: a calendar for the year with the public holidays marked, a Secret Santa draw that keeps everyone’s match private, bingo cards and word searches to print, a weekly staff rota that adds up hours and wages, a calendar for rotating shift patterns, and seating charts for weddings, events and classrooms. Every tool works in your browser, so there is nothing to install and no account to create.

How we check the dates

Public holidays are not copied from third-party lists. Each country’s rules (fixed dates, “first Monday” rules, Easter and weekend substitute days) are written in code and tested against the official lists published by OPM in the US, GOV.UK, Canada.ca and the Australian government. Each tool page shows the date the figures were last verified and links to the sources. Shift patterns are tested so that every preset covers each day with exactly one day crew and one night crew; bingo sets are tested for unique cards and correct number columns, word searches for words that can be found exactly where the answer key says, rota totals for overnight shifts and breaks, and seating plans for table sizes and every keep together and keep apart rule.

Privacy first

Calendars, draws, rosters and seating plans are worked out on your device. Secret Santa matches travel only inside each person’s link, after the # sign, which browsers never send to a server. See the privacy policy for details.
